How should the patient's head be supported when setting up the Ceribell EEG?
*
Use a soft pillow to apply pressure at the back of the headband
Rollup one large towel or two small towels to support patient’s lower head, to create a space between patient’s head and pillow to prevent pressure from the headband electrodes
No support is needed for patient’s head as long as patient is lying or sitting comfortably
None of above
What should be done with a patient's hair when setting up the Ceribell EEG?
*
You cannot use Ceribell EEG headbands on patient with thick hair
You need to shave the patient’s hair before you apply the Ceribell headband
You should pull long hair behind the patient’s ears and move the hair bangs out of the way
None of above
What is the correct position for the headband?
*
The clasp should be centered
The headband should be right above the eyebrows
The headband should be right above the ears
All the above
Can you use the Ceribell headband on patients with head wounds?
*
Yes. No assessment is needed
Yes. You can position the headband to avoid the wound if needed, but you should include a note and notify the physician so that the physician is aware of how the headband was placed
Yes. You can put the Ceribell headband on open wounds where brain is exposed as long as the headband fits the patient
No. Ceribell headband should never be used on a patient with head wounds even when the wounds are not covered by electrodes
What does it mean when the electrodes on the recorder screen are shown in grey?
*
The headband cable is not connected to the recorder properly. You should disconnect the headband from the recorder and re-plug it in
The connection between the electrodes and scalp is poor. You should rotate the electrodes to prepare the skin
The recorder is malfunctioning and must be replaced
The electrodes have malfunctioned. You should use a new headband
What is the correct way to prepare the electrodes?
*
Push the plunger and then rotate the electrodes back and forth 7 times
While applying gentle pressure, rotate the electrodes back and forth for 7 complete rotations, and then use two thumbs to push the plunger
It does not matter if you rotate or push down the plunger first
After 7 rotations, the gel will automatically be dispensed
I rotated one electrode 7 times and deployed the gel, but the electrode light in the recorder remains red. What should I do?
*
You need to prepare at least two adjacent electrodes on each side for the electrode light to turn green. If you only prepare one electrode, it will not turn green
Continue to prepare all of the other electrodes and check again because it can take a few seconds for the contact between the scalp and electrodes to stabilize
If you have prepared all of the electrodes and the indicator is still red, rotate the electrodes 5 more times until the light turns green. Use a syringe to administer more gel if necessary
All the above
How do you know that Ceribell is recording EEG and transmitting data to the cloud portal?
*
The blue LED is on
The blue LED is blinking
Both the record and wifi icons are displayed
As soon as the electrodes are green, the Ceribell recorder automatically starts to record
Select the correct statements about using the Brain Stethoscope feature?
*
You can listen to the “sound of the brain” by using the Brain Stethoscope function to differentiate normal brain activities from seizures
You can choose to listen to the left or right hemisphere of the brain
Normal brain sounds like white noise, and seizure sound is distinctive, highly rhythmic, and repetitive
All the above
What should be done to fix an electrode if the indicator is red?
*
Pause the recording if you are in the middle of a recording before you fix the electrode
Rotate the electrode 5 more times while gently pushing the electrode towards the head, and then squeeze the plunger further to dispense any remaining electrode gel
If further rotation does not work, use syringe provided by Ceribell to add more gel to the electrode
All the above
Which statement about charging the recorder is correct?
*
Keep the Recorder on while charging
If possible, immediately return the Ceribell recorder to the charging station after patient use
You cannot charge the Recorder during a patient recording
All the above
Which of the following statements is correct?
*
The headband can be reused on the same patient within 24 hours
Ceribell is CT compatible
Ceribell is MRI compatible
Moving a patient who is wearing a Ceribell headband will never affect the quality of the Ceribell EEG recording
