Q&A

We believe the newly released Natus BrainWatch point-of-care EEG infringes on six of our patents, including patents that cover key features of our innovative EEG headband design. We have confidence in our case.

A U.S. District Court lawsuit can result in an award of financial damages, while an ITC complaint can lead to infringing products being blocked from importation into the U.S

The ITC Administrative Law Judge is expected to issue a decision on infringement on 9/25/26. As is typical, the District Court case has been stayed pending an ITC decision.

Ceribell is seeking an order of exclusion from the market which, if granted, would require Natus to stop importing and selling its current BrainWatch product in the United States.

Yes. Natus Neuro was sued by Nox Medical in District Court for patent infringement. In that case, the Court entered a permanent injunction and awarded damages against Natus Neuro based on a stipulation and order that Natus products infringed the claims Nox asserted. Natus later appealed and the parties ultimately settled.

We have heavily invested in innovation and IP protection since our founding in 2014. Our patent portfolio reflects more than a decade of clinical development, engineering, and AI-based algorithm training.
